Turkish Coffee
Burcu, our Turkish exchange student, made us Turkish coffee and read our fortunes the first night that she stayed with us. Whenever we make it we're reminded of that special evening.
Coffee for 10:
1¼ cups finely ground coffee
1/3 cup sugar
7½ cups water
Place ingredients into a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Stir once and turn off heat. Let it sit for a couple of minutes before pouring into espresso- size cups. The coffee grounds will settle to the bottom of the cup, so avoid the last sip.
Serves 10.
For 5:
½ cup + 2 tbsps finely ground coffee
3 tbsps sugar
3¾ cups water
